Sara at Interpret Sass has the best meme in the blogosphere this week: Mix-Tape Monday!
Tell me you remember mix-tapes. Tapes at all! I got my first walkman when I was 8; I'll have you know it was pink. My first tape? Bon Jovi. Let's not discuss the fact that my daughter will never get an album called Slippery When Wet when she's 8 ever. Instead, just remember how much fun singing along to this song was. Is. You know.
Can we take a moment of silence for the genius who made cd players with a repeat button? Anyone else make a mix-tape of one song over and over again so you wouldn't wear out the rewind button on your boom box? Just me? Forget I mentioned it.
Rock On,
Carolynn

When I was in college, I had a "Love is False and Men Suck Mix." I thought you might appreciate that. :)
Hee hee! So glad to hear a bit of your musical history!!
Blessings!
I LOVED that song, and still have fun singing along to it. I will be singing this all night now.
I love that song! And mix tapes:)
Let me first say that I heart me some Bon Jovi!
I swore that I would never-ever get a CD player and PAY $13 for a CD when cassettes were a mere $7 or $8. I mean HIGHWAY robbery man!
Now, I laugh that I won't even buy cd but go on faith that my money will buy me an itune that will play on this thing called an ipod and I have held NOTHING in my hand that resembles music...
That said making a "mix tape" on an ipod my stinkin' toddler could do it if I let him near the computer which I don't because frankly I don't want to hear Sherry Baby 1000 time followed by Be good to me by the Jonas brothers!
Now I'm going to go watch living on a prayer again!
i have such AWESOME memories of driving in my car with that oo woa, oo, woa blasting so loud the speakers were fuzzy. this is one of the all time greatest bon jovi songs. rock it sista!!
Mix tapes??? Who doesn't know about mix tapes?? OMG...they were the best. I can hear "Pour some sugar on me" (so inappropriate) and it takes me back to my high school days driving around in my Toyota Celica with 10 of my BFF's stuffed in my car. AWWW, those were the days. :)
Bon Jovi~ ahh, those were the days, when I used to tape the radio. Yes, I would tape everything radio had on, then listen later. yes, I now realize that makes no sense.
I
LOVE LOVE LOVE Bon Jovi! My hubby is the biggest fan ever.
I love that you were 8 years old. :-)
I made a tape of "More Than Words" to play over and over again on one side and "Close to Me" on the other. I loved that tape.
